It’s the first day of summer! I loved summer so!
Only a few great weeks in a crappy year, not now, but back then, you hear
Today’s summer pales compared to the past, it still knows I wait for it as long as it lasts
Now not for THE summer to come, but for MY summer I wait, for a ray of sunshine in the form of a note
Just one warm night doesn’t make up for the years of warmth I lost, why bother to shine on me if you can’t keep it up
At least twenty years, and that ratio is poor. Once every two decades, we’ll be lucky to have just one more
Time keeps on slipping into the future. A summer night is not going to always be around to be warm tomorrow.
